Authentic Boredom

Wednesday April 14th, 2004
I'm a really big fan of the whole Victoriana vibe going round at the moment. If "What Do I Know":http://whatdoiknow.org/ was one of the first to come to my attention, Cameron Moll's "Authentic Boredom":http://www.cameronmoll.com/, is one of the latest. The detailing is subtle, but intricate. The bright splashes of red help set off the subdued greys. A beautiful and exquisite site, well deserving of an award.

Ah, this one. I've seen this linked from 'What Do I Know?' many times. There was a bit controversy regarding the design being so similar to that of 'What Do I Know?' But, I agree 100% with Todd Dominey that Authentic Boredom is merely inspired by Todd's site. Nice work, nice portfolio.

I agree with the "inspiration thing" but he does create what is his own site and design, despite inspiration. What is really bad is when sites are REALLY ripped off. Ewwwww.

I think I would have to disagree with the structure of the code, as it strays from what I have come to know as the way to present navigation is in a list. He really likes using carriage returns instead of lists as well some horizontal rulers

I absolutly love what Cameron has done with his site. What's even better about it is that his blog is definitly a must-read. Well done, Cameron, keep up the good work!

Congradulations Cameron! Your work is quite "professional" by way of your clean lines inspiried by commercial modernism. However, your use of extended serif typefaces and simplified flourishes give the site an air of contemporary warmth. I also appreciate your subtle grunge influence. Good work!
