WSA Winner

There's something about the simplicity of this site that just makes me want to explore. Notwithstanding language barriers, the big text, bright spaces and content-first layout all invite you to click.
It has just enough graphical flourishes to differentiate itself while still maintaining a minimal aesthetic, and the interactive touches on the contact form are pretty nice (unless you're in IE).

nice to see designs geared for handhelds...although i'd like to see less whitespace.

the design is really nice. i like it.
but:
the code could be much better. unnecessary classes, no list for the navigation, the navigation is there twice and they use two , where a would be more semantic.
i hope in the future the WSA will look closer at the code of a site. otherwise it colud be renamed to WDA - Web Design Awards. just my two cents.

opps. you strip tags? ok:
… they use two <br>, where a <p> would be more semantic.

goodwitch: thanks for the hint! The handheld view is still kind of untested and rough. We'll check this before the next update.
ml: you are right, the code isn't perfect. But: 1. I don't see any need for a list navigation, 2. I prefer the second navigation instead of an anchor, 3. I killed some br's (local, not yet published) and get the rest of them within next updates :-)
Thanks for your notes!

That cool focus effect on the contact form does not work in IE. But most cool tricks don't...

Hey, there are numerous IE tricks that don't work on Firefox. I just happen to be fonder of IE tricks, particularly, the custom icons in IE. I like the meta effects, too.
