The Web Standards Awards are all about the combination of design and code. While we see many pretty faces with dubious structures, Markus Stefan knows just how to get it right.
His latest project -- folietto -- blends light, airy graphics with rock solid semantics, to give a great looking, accessible website. The only thing I can fault is the contrast on some of the text, sometimes dark on light is the only way to go.

This is a great site, seriously. The keyword meta tag is a little er.. , long. Love that blue.

How can you have too many "related" keywords? Thats almost like saying too much money. Almost.
Anyway, LOVE the navigation! Mainly because I love interactive rollovers and this one really does it for me, great job Markus!

We have waited a long time for some new feature. I must admit that this site deserves it! I was hoping to see it here. Very creative layout with lovely, pleasant color scheme. Job well done!

Der Wahnsinn! Dickes Lob!
This is one of the best designs I have ever seen - wonderful. But I miss a favicon.ico.
