We were prepared for long debates and plenty of in-fighting over who would take the first WSA Golden Star (site of the month award), but the PGA Championship's beautiful design and high quality production made it an easy and unanimous choice.

Congratulations to Dominey Design and also to all the other Silver Star winners who made the Web Standards Awards' first month such a successful one. All the designers and developers using Web Standards give us a hard choice every week as to which sites to award -- a true testament to the power and possibility of Web Standards.

“I could not go past PGA as a winner as it was elegant, stylish and also a large corporate site as opposed to a small company site or a blog. It is an amazing site that became a leader as soon as it was launched. The layout is beautiful and clean with excellent integration of flash and html components. The content is also well laid out without being overwhelming. The only small issue was lack of additional accessibility features.”

Russ Weakley

“For the quality of the layout and attention to details — there is depth — each section is well deliminated and the headers and nav are in good contrast and positioned as too draw in your attention. Good mix of media (flash).”

Carole Guevin

“To me this site exemplifies the future of Web design. It brings together clean Web standard code, a clear, focused well thought-out design, a touch of Flash and some pretty amazing code wizardry on the back-end to create perhaps the best example of what you can do with Web standards.”

D. Keith Robinson

“A professional and polished site that seamlessly incorporates a number of technologies and features. The huge amount of content has been intelligently managed and through the smooth and innovative navigation, makes this site an enjoyable and informative surfing experience.”

Robert Ford

Original review:

A beautiful site that is a great example of how to incorporate flash for a visually rich experience. This site also presents a lot of information without feeling cluttered. A worthy first WSA winner!

An easy decision, no doubt. This site is almost entirely without fault. Visually there's a lot of depth and information but it still manages not to be cluttered. Beautiful.

can we see this gold star that was awarded? Where are the bronze star awards if the regular awards are silver stars? Like, on the description of each award, just place a picture of a star... come on... do it... do it... do it.

I think that this was a great choice was Feb Site of the Monfth. Can't wait to see more!

What do I know has been on my blog list for awhile now, and I'm glad that Todsd is getting the credit he deserves. Those interetested should also check out his PGA floor show work with Flash.

Aesthetically pleasing and functional site that the designer has even made to work on IE 5 on a MAC using OS9 ... now this is why sites should be given awards ...
